VidyArangam
VidyArangam is an initiative started in 2020 amidst the pandemic. We are a Bharatanatyam dance school which provides lessons to ladies and kids in the traditional Kalakshetra style. Beginners, Intermediate and advanced levels of Bharatanatyam training is provided by us.
At VidyArangam, we strongly believe art gives us the opportunity to examine what it means to be human, to express ourselves, and to bring people and ideas together. We encourage all participants to strive for excellence, and as a reward, to have fun along the way.
FOUNDER
Smt. Bhasura Venugopal is a classical dancer by passion and a software consultant by profession.
Bhasura’s journey in Bharatanatyam commenced at the age of four under the tutelage of Smt. Kalamandalam Girija in Kozhikode, Kerala. At the age of eight, Bhasura came under the guidance of Smt. Kalamandalam Latha Suresh with whom she studied for over a decade and acquired proficiency in full Maargam. During her early days, she has participated in several events at school, district, state and national levels. Besides Bharatanatyam, Bhasura is also a learned Mohiniyattam and Kuchipudi dancer.
She holds a master’s degree in Bharatanatyam from Tamil University, Tanjavur and a master’s degree in Computer Science from NIT Calicut.
She is currently imparting knowledge to students who are passionate to learn the art-form. She takes part in various events where her responsibilities span from conceptualization all the way until performance. She is now looking at further exploring the classicism of the dance form and nurture her passion.
